This year for my birthday all I wanted was a perfect NYC day of pampering and relaxation. I decided to spend it in my favorite area of lower Manhattan, SOHO. Because of its’ popularity, every time I’m in this area, the more crowded it feels. Therefor I try to spend as little time on the main street of Broadway as possible and cut in and out to the quiet quant cobble stoned streets.
My first stop on this SOHO adventure was spent at Haven Spa. I highly recommend this spa. It is perfect for all of your pampering needs from an eyebrow wax, a mani/pedi, to a massage. I’ve been coming to Haven for years, in fact it’s the only place I trust for eyebrow maintenance. This trip however was my first time using the spa services. I chose a hot stone massage and the experience was heavenly. (Look for more on Haven Spa in our upcoming NYC spa guide review)
Emerging from the spa relaxed and refreshed I grabbed lunch at my favorite Soho lunch eatery, Hampton Chutney. Serving thin, crispy Indian dosas paired with yummy homemade chutney’s, it never fails to satisfy my taste buds. My dosas of choice has always been the No. 10 – potato masala with grilled chicken, spinach and their signature cilantro chutney. It’s a must try!
After a very tasty lunch it was shopping time! SOHO has the best stores from boutiques, to favorite brands, to high-end designer stores. Whether I need to buy a basic top from a staple like Zara or H&M, find a hidden gem at Piperlime or Comptoir des Cotonniers, or drool over a handbag at Prada, SOHO has everything for your shopping wants and needs.
Before heading home I had to stop by the beautiful Crosby Street Hotel for a glass of wine. There is something very elegant in a hotel bar. This is the perfect spot for drinks whether you’re with a group of friends or for an intimate date. I love sitting in the warm orange-colored room sipping a cocktail to bring an end to a lovely day in SOHO.
