How To Wear Gingham This Spring

When I think of gingham prints, three things come to mind: wholesome, summery, and picnic blanket.  Following the spring/summer ’15 collections that showed at the NYFW last September, it was clear that gingham was going to be the print to wear this season.  I have never considered my personal style to be wholesome; I can’t see myself in a gingham printed dress.  I’d feel like I should be wearing ruby red slippers to go with it.  After looking around, I found that there are playful yet sophisticated ways to wear this pattern.  There are just a few things to keep in mind when styling this pattern.  First, play around with color. Gingham usually comes in simple colors like black and white or navy and white.   Choose a color to style it with, like red, cobalt, or fuchsia, that will make the outfit pop.  Second, mix and match prints for an edgier outfit.  While some find this look to be too busy, if done right, it can look flawlessly put together.

No matter how you wear it, gingham is this season’s leading print.  I have put together three classy, chic ways to style gingham for spring.  I would love to hear from you which outfit is your favorite!
