Surprise!

Slide1

I have been waiting a long time to make this announcement.  I am not sure what has stopped me in the past, but I just woke up today and felt that it was time to share with you my big news.  Coming this June, my husband and I are expecting a baby boy!  Even though I’m almost in my third trimester, it still doesn’t feel real.  Hopefully by sharing this with my lovely readers, it will finally sink in that it’s happening.  I don’t know what life will be like after he is born, but what I do know is that I am fully committed to this blog and look forward to taking it to the next level.  It may take longer than planned, but it’s all about balancing and getting used to a new schedule.

ESL won’t turn into a mommy blog, but I am sure the baby will make an appearance every now and then.  One thing I am certain of is that this kid is going to be the most stylish boy out there!  As for me, my pregnancy style hasn’t looked as chic as Blake Lively’s or Kate Middleton’s.  I just wanted to get through the winter by wearing my own clothes as long as I could.  It hasn’t been fun but, with a few comfortable sweater dresses, it’s been manageable.  I can tell you one thing; I miss my clothes and shopping for non-maternity wear.   Soon spring will be here and I will spend the rest of my pregnancy in maxi and summer dresses.  I am very happy with my timeline because, when I will be at my most uncomfortable stage, it will be very early summer weather.  I plan on wearing the maxi dresses all summer long while I get back to being me again.

Even though there were a few hiccups, I have had a really easygoing pregnancy.  With all of the pros and cons, it’s nice to let you all in because I have been a bit lonely.  I have loved living on the east coast, but as a California girl, I really miss home.  I am also having nesting issues.  We are not ready to leave Manhattan, but a home with a backyard is so important to us.  There are a lot of changes on the horizon.  But if there are any mothers out there raising kids in Manhattan, I would be very welcome to any advice.  So that’s the big news!  Stay tuned for updates as we anxiously wait for his arrival.

  2. congratulations to you and Adam!!! I’m so very happy and excited for you. If you ever have any questions, please ask 🙂 Honestly, it didn’t sink in with me about having Maddie until she was a couple months old. Being a mother is the most amazing treasure on earth and the most remarkable, exciting, and crazy journey you will ever take. Sending lots of love to the three of you!! XO
