Holiday Gift Guide: For the Hostess

When you go to a friend’s party, do you bring a host or hostess gift?  Absolutely!  Most guests don’t think of this gesture.  Or, if they do, they pick the most obvious choice and bring a bottle of wine.  This is very polite of you, but this holiday season, why not think outside of the box?  Hosts put a lot of time into preparing and entertaining guests and the best way to say “thank you” is with a thoughtful present.  One thing to keep in mind is who you are shopping for.  How well do you know the host?  If you are going to your husband’s boss’s home, gift a box of sweets.  Make it clear that this is for them to enjoy after their guests have left.  If you know the host well, then get them something that you know they will enjoy.  Any gift that complements their personal home decor style or something that you know they are pining for.  So while you’re doing your holiday shopping, don’t forget to include any parties you have on your list of people to shop for.  It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant; just a small token of your gratitude and, believe me, it’s the gesture that counts.  If you are stumped for ideas, then you’re in luck!  I have rounded up a few fun ideas for you.  Just remember to not force it, anything that comes from the heart will do.
