New Year, New Goals

Here we go again! Now that we’ve rung in the new year, it’s time to get busy and start things off on the right foot. How was everyone’s new year? My husband and I were able to get away from the baby for the evening and actually had a lovely dinner out. As wonderful as it was to be alone, I think we were both happy to be home with our baby when the clock struck twelve. Now that the holidays are over and all of our company has gone home, I feel refreshed and ready to get back to business. I would like to start 2016 with a post about my goals and resolutions for the year to come. Do you make resolutions? I don’t see the point of putting unnecessary pressure on yourself, but it is a good thing to have goals for the year. Besides, life is way too short to go on a diet and cut out wine. Although it wouldn’t hurt for me to go to a gym ever now and then!  I love planning and I like to make a list of projects I want to get done, places I want to visit, and changes I want to make. By the end of the year I want to look back and say I made the most out of 2016. So, without further ado, I give you my goals for the New Year!

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY: If you read this blog, then you know that I love to shop. I am very good at it. However, I have found myself frustrated with the quality and design of clothes out there right now. Moving forward, I want to buy less and invest in classic, high quality pieces.

ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: I am always telling myself that I need to improve my Photoshop and design skills, but the time has come to do something about it. I am going to make serious strides to improve the layout of my blog so that we can have something we all will enjoy looking at.

OUTFIT POSTS: I started to do styled shots of myself featuring my favorite outfits. Then I got pregnant and put it on hold. Now that I am getting back to my old self, I want to commit to a couple of outfit posts a week. I hope that you guys are excited for this change for the blog.

HOME MAKEOVER: Now that my son is mobile there are a lot of things in my apartment that need to change. This has inspired me to give my home the makeover it so desperately needs. This is the year of getting things done. I am so tired of putting things off. I am going to take each room on as an individual challenge and make my apartment a home.

PLANNING AHEAD: Throughout the year I am always doing research and prepping for upcoming stories. However, I it’s really easy to fall behind. I have worked really hard to find the perfect system to stay focused and organized with my editorial calendar. I hope that this will bring positive results to the blog.

BALANCING ACT: As a new mother, I have discovered that the secret to a sane and happy life is balance. It is going to take a lot of hard work but, if I stay organized, dedicated, and patient, I will find a way to take care of my family and myself. Wish me luck!
