Color Crush: Pastels

Welcome to spring and the wonderful world of pastels.  Now, we’re in the season where pops of buttercup, petal pink, and powdery blue are the perfect antidote to the dark and dreary colors of winter.  It is time to put away the moody winter tones and replace them with lighter options.  I know that wearing pastels for spring doesn’t sound original.  But in fact, blush is everywhere right now.  The great thing about pastels is that they are more of a classic staple and less of a fleeting trend.  I just love wearing pretty and soft pastels.  They are a sophisticated neutral that is also feminine and sweet.  Pastels look great when paired with another pastel.  For instance, wear blush with lavender or powder blue with mint. Another option is to stick with the same color but in a darker variation for a monochrome look.  My favorite is to wear them with white.  This combination is a foolproof approach to updating an on-trend all-white look.  To make your style edgier, try mixing them with metallic or with a leather moto jacket for some texture.  I am a big fan of pastels for spring and I highly suggest you try them out!
