Currently Coveting: Leopard Print

This season’s collections have a lot of spots in them.  I found when shopping for fall that leopard printed fashions are everywhere right now.   The animal print trend is fun, flirty, and really easy to pull off.  It adds attitude to any outfit, whether you go bold with a jacket or simplistic with a belt.  I personally love the look of wearing a pair of leopard print pumps with a classic LBD.  One way to make leopard print even more dramatic is to mix it with jewel tones.  I hope by now you can see that the sky’s the limit when styling this feline print.    You’re in luck because finding the perfect piece of this print is very easy this season.  I have rounded up 10 of my favorite styles that will take your wardrobe to the next level and you will be fall ready.

Fashion Must-Haves For Fall

Fashion Must-Haves For Fall

 1. CAMEL COAT:  This time of year, I always invest in a new coat. Winter can be long and cold and by the end of it you can be sick and tired of your outerwear.  That is why I like to start off fall with a new coat; it gets me excited for the colder days instead of dreading them.  If winter depresses you, good news!  Brighter colored coats are in and my favorite color of the moment is the chic and elegant camel.

2. SATCHEL:  There are no rules about what bag you should be carrying for fall, but we do tend to need more stuff this time of year.  That is why I love carrying a larger bag and I am a big fan of this satchel. It’s versatile, sleek, and perfect for carrying around and organizing my crazy life.

3. TURTLENECK:  When choosing a warm layer, make sure that a turtleneck is high on your list. Sure it’s a classics, but it seems to be a very popular choice for your go-to sweater this season. Wear it with wide leg pants, a mini skirt, or underneath a sleeveless dress.

 4. SWEATER DRESS:  I love dresses and cold weather doesn’t keep me from wearing them.  I am very happy that sweater dresses are making a comeback this season because nothing keeps you warmer than chunky knitwear.

 5. SUEDE BOOTS:  Fall and boots go together like peanut butter and jelly.  They don’t make sense without each other.  Since suede is trending right now, it only makes sense that you invest in a great pair of suede boots.  Whether they have a short or tall heel, over the knee, or a bootie, you should have at least one pair in your closet.

6.  DANGLY EARRINGS:  Out of all of the accessory options, I have always favored earrings.  This season, I am happy to say that long dangly earrings are making a comeback and I couldn’t be happier.  Dangly earrings can be delicate or make a statement.  Either way, they are a fabulous accessory that will only elevate your style.

7.  MINI SKIRT:  Because the 70’s are influencing fashion right now, mini skirts are in.  Whether you wear them flared or straight, this style is coming in all kinds of prints and colors.  Wear them with tights, tall boots, and a turtleneck and you will be a street style star in no time!

8.  WIDE LEG TROUSERS:  I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but I am not happy that bellbottoms are in-style right now.  That being said, if I am going to break away from my skinny jeans, I am definitely on board with the wide legged pant trend.  They are sophisticated and elegant.  I highly suggest you get a pair in white, but if you aren’t ready for that commitment, any color will do.

Links I Discovered This Week

I am so happy to report that I am now home and finished with my travels for the year.  I’ve been away so much that I can’t remember what my girlfriends look like, my puppy is giving me the cold shoulder, and my apartment is a pigsty.   It’s a great feeling to know that I won’t be boarding another plane until 2015. Even though I love to travel, I need some quality time with NYC.  I feel like we aren’t speaking the same language and it’s because I haven’t been home for seven days straight in months.  I’m planning on doing some exploring this weekend by visiting an area I rarely go to and play.  I’ll visit a museum, shop in quant boutiques, take a walk in Highline Park (before it’s too cold), and enjoy a meal at a new restaurant.  It has taken me a couple of days to recuperate from my recent trip.   I have spent a lot of my time catching up on my weekly reading from my favorite bloggers, online magazines, and researching online.  Here is what I found, and I’d love for you to share with me what has inspired you this week.  Happy weekend and stop by the blog next week where I’ll be back sharing all sorts of fall fashion inspired stories.

DINING OUT:  One of my favorite things about fall is pumpkin.  Whether it is in lattes, pie, or soup, I can’t get enough of it.  That’s why I was happy to find this roundup of the best pumpkin dishes in NYC.  After I try them, I’ll report back to you.

HOW DARLING:  Thanks to One Brass Fox, I discovered Darling Magazine and I’m already in love.  So many articles stood out to me but, maybe, the “ A Perfectly Imperfect Host” piece is my current favorite.

TAKE YOUR MARK, GET SET, GO: Stephanie, from A Sparkle Factor, helps you get prepared with these lessons in fashion that every girl should know before she’s 30.  Having turned 30 this year, I can say this is a great list!

OOTD:  When I think fall fashion, two words come to mind: texture and tweed.  That is why I am absolutely in love with this affordable outfit post from Penny Pincher Fashion.

MONTHLY FUN:  I may have missed the first part of October due to my travels, but it’s not over yet!  Find out what fun activities NYC offers this month here.

STYLISH COSTUMES:  Want to dress up for Halloween but not spend the money?  The gals from Dearest Darling have come up with four stylish costume ideas that can be found in your very own closet.

BEAUTY TREND:  Lately, we’ve been seeing less and less makeup on magazine covers and runway shows.  Next month, Kerri Washington shows that going without makeup is the new trend on the cover of Allure.  Get a sneak peek here.

TGIF!  Even though I am extremely happy that the weekend is here, I had another really productive week.  I am feeling really positive about this blog and hope you guys have been enjoying my recent posts!  I think one of the reasons why I’ve been so pumped lately is that my favorite season is almost here and I’ve been having a blast preparing for it.  Now I know that some of you are in a bit of denial.  It’s hard to say goodbye to warm days, the beach, and rooftop bars, but there are good times ahead too. I promise!   Since this is one of the last weekends left for the summer, I hope you all take some time to play outdoors.  I, for one, am heading to the country for some quality family time and, hopefully, some poolside action.  But before you jet off on your wild weekend adventure, check out my latest Weekly Finds post.  There are a lot of great stories online and I am happy to share with you my favorites.  I’d love to hear what you’ve discovered recently, so don’t be shy. IF IT AINT BROKE:  Rumors are floating around that Tiffany’s new creative director, Francesca Amfitheatrof is thinking about to give the classic blue box a makeover.  I understand that she wants to make her own mark in the company but don’t mess with a good thing!

HEALTHY LIVING:  Do you love restaurants as much as I do?  Then this story about how you can eat healthy while dining out can really help.

FALL CLEANING:  It is that time of year again when I need to give my home a deep cleaning and de-clutter my life.  That is why I am taking on this challenge. Wish me luck!

D’OH:  If you are a fan of The Simpsons then start from the beginning by watching the entire series with FXX’s 12 day marathon.

FASHION INSPIRATION:  I love everything about old Hollywood: the films and fashion.  That’s why I chose this article about how Hollywood starlets like Katherine Hepburn and Rita Hayworth are influencing fashion this fall.

SMART SHOPPING:  Shopping is always a fun adventure but why not make it a smart one with these great tips from one of my favorite blogs, A Sparkle Factor!

BEAUTY:  I am always on the lookout for a new skincare regime, which is why this story on Verso Day and Night Cream caught my eye.  If it really does make your acne spots run away screaming, I have to test it out for myself.

Happy Weekend!

Zara’s City Bag: The It Bag for Fall

The Fall Must-Have: Zara's City Bag The Fall It Handbag: Zara's City BagThe Fall It Handbag: Zara's City BagThe Fall It Handbag: Zara's City Bag

If you’re going to carry one handbag this season, make sure it is the City Bag from Zara’s Autumn ’14 collection.  Zara has designed a vintage inspired handbag with ladylike appeal.  This top-handled satchel has all you need for looking sophisticated and polished while carrying around your daily essentials.  When shopping for a fall bag, I want structure, space, and simplicity.  It is there to complement my wardrobe, not dominate it.  The more layers we put on for fall, the more we carry around with us.  That is why we need a bag that not only holds your daily needs, but also looks chic while doing it.  Zara knows that this satchel is a popular item because they have released it in a wealth of fall-hued colors. From vibrant shades such as yellow and orange to classic nude and navy, there is a color for everyone.   I believe the reason why I am drawn to the City Bag collection is that it’s reminiscent of the Louis Vuitton’s Alma handbag I have been coveting for ages!  But thanks to Zara,  I can now have this style I am so strongly attracted to for a much more realistic price.

Visit Zara’s website to purchase your favorite City Bag!
